Outdoor facilty: our advice

Installation is key to comfortable use of your griddle. Here are our tips for choosing the ideal location for your griddle:

  • Outdoors, whether you want to set up your plancha on a balcony, terrace, or even in a courtyard, choose a location that is sheltered from wind and weather (and potentially also allows you to cook in the shade). You can also set it up at the end of the table for a more convivial atmosphere.
    • We recommend tilting your plancha slightly using the rear legs to ensure proper drainage of fat into the drip tray.
  • Choose a stable, level surface to prevent the grill from tipping over.
  • Place your griddle grill in a sheltered spot away from the wind and close to amenities (a water source for easy cleaning and a food preparation area).

Note: ENO griddle grills are only approved for outdoor use!

Connection and preheating

how to use a griddle

Connection

Here are the steps to connect your gas griddle:

  • A 22 mm wrench and a 24 mm wrench
  • Soapy water
  • An elbow connector
  • A gas hose

Steps:

  • Place the battery in the spring (pay attention to the direction of insertion).
  • Screw on the cap and perform an ignition test.
    • The soapy water test: To check that the connection is secure, you must perform a soapy water test on the connections between the griddle and the gas cylinder: spray soapy water on the connections.
    • If bubbles appear, you must tighten your joints.
    • Repeat the operation until you no longer see bubbles appearing.
    • You can now safely light your griddle!
  • Take your elbow connector and place the seal in it.
  • Screw your elbow connector onto the back of your griddle and tighten it using the two wrenches.
  • Connect your gas hose to the elbow connector and the regulator on your gas cylinder.
  • Use your 24 mm wrench to ensure it is tightened properly.
  • Install the regulator on the gas cylinder.
  • Open the gas cylinder and press the safety button on the regulator several times to prime it.

The preheating

To light your gas griddle, here's how to do it (depending on your model):

  • For Bergerac models:
    • Press the burner button and turn it to the left.
    • Wait until gas escapes slightly.
    • With the burner still pressed down, press the igniter for a few seconds and release everything.
  • For Enosign models: hold down the ignition button for a few seconds and release.

Allow your griddle to heat up for 10 to 15 minutes to ensure all your food is seared to perfection.
